“He has the crazy desire to ask for forgiveness”

Pierre Palmade is on trial for involuntary injuries this Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Since the accident, the comedian has no longer reappeared on the media scene.

On February 10, 2023, Pierre Palmade was involved in a serious road accident, which injured three people, including a pregnant woman, who subsequently lost her unborn baby. Under the influence of drugs at the time of the tragedy, the comedian and actor immediately recognized his responsibility in the accident. He appears this Thursday, November 20 for involuntary injuries (the charge of involuntary manslaughter was not retained).

But between the accident and the trial, what happened to Pierre Palmade? The comedian is, unsurprisingly, surprisingly discreet. Seriously injured after the accident, for which he publicly took responsibility, he also suffered a stroke before beginning a course of treatment to cure his addictions at University Hospital. Three months later, on June 24, 2023, he will experience an episode of relapse. It will notably be filmed in a Bordeaux nightclub.

According to comments reported by Le Parisien, Pierre Palmade assures that his addiction is at the center of his problems: “I can be eaten away an hour before by the accident and the injured, as long as I am not two centimeters from the mouth of the wolf, I don't see the danger.” In Seven to eight last week, his lawyer assured that he has not relapsed since this incident in Bordeaux.

His friend, the actor François Rollin, also shared a testimony about the comedian's daily life with Seven to eightthe 10th last November, ensuring that “[sa] knowledge”, he would be sober : “for a little over a year, no drugs or alcohol. It's a very small victory in an ocean of disasters.” According to the journalist in charge of the report, Pierre Palmade returned to writing for comedians, but under a pseudonym. If he sold his house in Cély-en-Bièrehe would still have an apartment in the center of .

Asked why Pierre Palmade is still standing today, François Rollin is categorical : “because he has the crazy desire to ask for forgiveness, to try to be forgiven, to try to make amends”. In a hearing with the Melun judicial court, in October 2023, the comedian himself described his accident as “monstrous”. “I ruined a family’s life. I go to sleep and wake up with that, honestly.” Pierre Palmade faces up to 14 years in prison and 200 000 fine euros
