The Montauban en Scènes festival takes place in the green setting of the Jardin des Plantes in the prefectural town of Tarn-et-Garonne. To respect the place as much as possible, a team of volunteers is responsible for collecting the waste that litters the paths. Even if they are, over the years, less and less numerous.
In order to promote ecological dynamics, various arrangements have been put in place by the Montauban en scenes festival. Reusable or recyclable tableware, sorting awareness… Several responsible efforts appear during the four days of concerts.

Eight volunteers then have the mission of keeping the place clean. To do this, they collect waste (cigarette butts, cans, etc.) from the ground and empty the trash cans regularly. “We were really pleasantly surprised. The people are very clean, there isn’t that much waste on the ground. We expected much worse!”, explain Guillaume and Nathalie, armed with their litter grabbers.
“I see improvement from year to year”
“Compared to the other festivals at which I volunteer, I see a clear improvement here from year to year,” continues the first named. Various sorting bins are then made available to festival-goers throughout the festival site.

While the festival favors the use of reusable cups and recyclable plates, food trucks also have guidelines regarding sorting food and waste. Three separate trash bags are provided to them: one for plastic, one for regular household waste and one for remaining food that may fall to the ground. Concerning producers, restaurateurs also try to prioritize short circuits as much as possible.
