The comic festival from , which returns from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 November 2024, will blow out 39 candles this year, indisputable proof if any were needed of a strong and lasting anchor in the region, but also in the landscape of contemporary comics.

Prestigious guests

With strong values and an affirmed line of conduct of “raising high the celebration of otherness and the sharing of a common space and time”, Colomiers BD received, on June 21, the Literary Action Prize organized by SOFIA in the “Commitment” category. »

Between highlighting the work of eight young artists who have never been published and to whom creative residencies may have been offered, Colomiers is betting on a dynamic production and seeing far, while also celebrating authors , experienced illustrators.

And in this case, the programming is dizzying. For example, we can find the excellent SethCanadian author born in 1962 in Clinton (Ontario) who we loved Life is beautiful despite everything and the series of Clyde Fans. We will go to meet Max Baitingerby Jérémie Moreau, by Marine Schneider, by Mirion Malleof Sarah Cheveau and so many others: they will be nearly 150 authorsdesigners, illustrators for around sixty publishing houses, large and small, of the Hammerhead Shark Association. Break the bank and come get your most precious albums signed!

The meetings are always an opportunity to meet our favorite authors and we can predict a nice crowd around B-gnet, Guillaume Bouzard, Fabcaro (yes, the author of the cult Zaï, Zaï, Zaï, Zaï and legendaries Open Bar), Fabrice Erreet Gilles Rochier. As Covid hits the world, a joyful troupe of five authors must spend the evenings in a lodge as soon as curfew rings. A unique atmosphere which could seem sinister, but which will give birth to T’worsie, released in January 2024 by 6 Pieds sous terre.

On the exhibition side, there are also many celebrations: “Drawn & Quarterly” will allow a fascinating meeting with the editors Peggy Burns, Tom Devlin and Chris Oliveros. The artists Jérémie Moreau and Marine Schneider will be present to prolong the pleasure of discovering their exhibition “Cohabiting with the living ». Unmissable, the screening of the entire brilliant series seen on Arte “Samuel”, followed, as the icing on the cake, by a masterclass from its creator Émilie Tronche.

A prize awarded

Finally, the Colomiers BD Salon is also a prize, with a nice jackpot of 1,500 euros up for grabs: the“First time ever”which will be given on November 15 to an author whose first book of comic literature has been published during the year.
