After Dax and Mont-de-Marsan, the city of Bayonne has announced that it will not take part in the return of Intervilles this summer, due to the absence of the legendary cows.
The return of Intervilles, for Bayonne, is no. After Dax and Mont-de-Marsan, another town in the southwest of France has announced that it will not take part in the Intervilles broadcasts, broadcast in the summer of 2025.
As for the two other cities, Bayonne, winner of the game in 1970, justifies this refusal by the absence of cows for the programs broadcast this summer.
“As an elected official from Bayonne, I join the position of all the comrades from the southwest to say ‘let’s not distort this beautiful program’,” Olivier Alleman, digital assistant at the city of Bayonne.
The latter was host of the show between 2007 and 2011.
Intercity returns for four shows in 2025
“The ventriglisse where we slide the wet body on a tarpaulin, it is a tradition of the North and in the South-West it is the cows, so the return without a cow bothers me a little since it is obviously not in the The very DNA of the program,” continued the elected official from Bayonne. The latter recalls that those responsible for the ORTF, at the origin of the creation of the game, “relied on all the traditions of regional games to be able to create Intervilles”.
Intervilles will be back for four evenings in 2025presented by Nagui, sixty-three years after the creation of the cult game which pits two French cities against each other through eccentric physical challenges. In March 2020, the return of the game was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2025, the show will be back on France 2 but without its cows or two of the game’s cult cities.
