The family comedy with Jean Reno and Franck Dubosc, adapted from the cult board game Les Loups-Garous by Thiercelieux, will be available on October 23 on the streaming platform.

“Let the game begin.” The film Werewolvesadapted from the cult board game The Werewolves of Thiercelieux with Jean Reno and Franck Dubosc will be released on October 23 on Netflix.

Presented as a “French-style Jumanji”, this feature film directed by François Uzan (co-creator with Pascal Zadi of the series In place) features a family who meets for a game of Werewolves and finds themselves propelled into the world of the game in a village in the Middle Ages.

To get out and win the game, each player will have to rub shoulders with villagers and knights and, above all, determine each night who the werewolves are in order to avoid being devoured.

On the casting side, Jean Reno and Franck Dubosc will opposite Suzanne Clément (Mommy), Bruno Gouery (Emily in Paris), Grégory Fitoussi (Gears), Lisa Do Couto Teixeira, Raphaël Romand (The consent) or Alizée Caugnies.

Created in 2001 by Philippe des Pallières and Hervé Marly, and inspired by an American game called Werewolf, The Werewolves of Thiercelieux offers players the chance to play as villagers and werewolves.

At the start of the game, each player is assigned a specific role but ignores that of the others. When everyone closes their eyes and night falls, the werewolves agree to kill a victim. Once they reopen their eyes, the villagers must agree on the identity of the werewolf and attempt to eliminate him.

Canal+ is also developing a program project around the game, with Panayotis Pascot and Fary.
