During an interview given to The Hollywood Reporter to promote his series Time BanditsLisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay in Friends, revealed that she was rewatching episodes of the series to honor the memory of Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing alongside her for a decade. “Honestly, I couldn’t watch them before because it’s very awkward to see yourself on screen. But if I do it with Matthew in mind, then it’s okay. And it’s just to celebrate how much he was hilarious – and that’s what I want to remember,” she said.

Matthew Perry tragically died on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54, due to the acute effects of ketamine, the actor drowning in his jacuzzi. According to a police source cited by Peoplethe investigation would be about to conclude, and several people could be charged.

“I think the world remembers him the way he wanted to be remembered.”

Friends was first broadcast on September 22, 1994, immediately propelling its six actors, playing six close friends in New York, to international superstardom. During the “Friends Reunion” special, which aired in 2021, Lisa Kudrow claimed she was “laughing out loud” at how fun the cast was in the comedy. “I’m impressed by Courteney Cox, I’m impressed by Jen (Aniston). Matthew, obviously, is just hilarious. No one has ever had that comedic cadence or rhythm before him. Matt LeBlanc is hilarious, and so is David Schwimmer ” she said.

“Sometimes I even laugh at what I did. It’s my own way of celebrating (birthdays), just looking at it. But it’s embarrassing at home, if someone walks into the room and I watch Friends, it’s a horrible look, I think, isn’t it?”, she added. Asked about the legacy of Matthew Perry, to whom she had paid a sincere tribute after his death, the actress simply replied: “I think the world remembers him the way he wanted to be remembered. I think it’s (already) happening.”
