An Ali Baba’s cave filled with Christmas decorations made in BW: Sylvie, a holiday enthusiast, transformed her house into a pop-up store

On TikTok, Brabançonne is developing a series of tutorials on creating and decorating Christmas. And success has been achieved with videos seen, some of them, by several million people. “My publications focus on how to properly decorate your tree, tie beautiful bows, order between the baubles and the garlands. This is pretty obvious to me but not to everyone. So I often receive photos from customers who show me their tree and I become a sort of Christmas consultant.”
But of course, Sylvie’s main activity remains her home store, in her living room and online (Lilosquare). In total, nearly 1,000 products are offered on the site, with 450 new products. “My goal is to have 1,000 new releases next year.”
It must be said that the demand is there and is becoming more and more diversified over time. “From year to year, I notice that we prepare for Christmas earlier and earlier. Here I started selling (online) since September 1st. I have the feeling that people spread their budget over several months. They say they spend less on the holidays, but I don’t think so because it’s the time when we want to treat ourselves.”
On the trend side, Sylvie opted for red and gold this year, a small return to traditions, she confides. In decoration, this time we find the gourmet side with gingerbread and themes similar to the Nutcracker. Sylvie’s Christmas salon can be discovered every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until December 23, in Ottignies.
