The La Maison de Papier bookstore is organizing a screening of the film this Thursday, November 14 at 8:30 p.m. Itshmemo, the wind of revolt, by Alessi dell’Umbria. The event will be held in the multimedia room, 4 rue du Temple du Mas d’Azil.

The film – and the book published by Editions Ici bas, and Editions du Bout de la ville – tells the story of the struggle of the indigenous communities of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in southern Mexico, who oppose one of the largest wind farms in the world. When sustainable development takes up arms! The film shifts the gaze and does without expert speeches. It makes the wind turbines, these windmills, swing, which in a decade have bristled all over the earth, and now, all over the sea.

The evening will be held in the presence of members of the Stop EDF Mexico collective, and members of En avant comrade, an association which led a victorious fight against an industrial wind turbine project at Cabanere à Camarade.

This evening will also be an opportunity to take stock of the progress of the controversial photovoltaic panel project on Lake Mondély and its opposition with people from the Mondélybre association.
