The Boys has no equal when it comes to navigating violence, drama and humor. It didn’t take very long for the Prime Video series to establish itself as the most irreverent superhero series of the television landscape. With all due respect to Deadpool, who paved the way for trashy characters inspired by Garth Ennis’ comics, The Boys also knows how to play its format. Hughie, Butcher and his gang certainly don’t break the fourth wall like Wade Wilson, on the other hand Prime Video is having fun with a promotional campaign full of pleasant surprises.
The seasons are accompanied by official Vought videos, the company’s accounts are regularly updated new content. But it is directly via the application that the magic happens. If the Prime Video user experience is not the smoothest, the platform benefits from a feature that risks making people jealous. To accompany the viewing, the X-Ray tool book of filming anecdotes and references to the comics that fans of the series devour to learn more about the iconic scenes. Amidst this very serious information lie gags which add to the reputation of the Boys and their antagonists as enfant terrible.

Season 4 is particularly full of anecdotes, about comics, but also informational messages from Vought International and of Prime Video. Internet user @Azalben has also spotted some nuggets to eat. During a scene in episode 2, we learn, for example, that “all Voughtality products are made with organic ingredients”. Later, we learn that “many people believe that conjunctivitis is caused by fecal matter coming into contact with the eyes”. Prime Video invites children to wash their hands and their parents to“ban this series”.
These little winks are not the only string to the bow of the X-Ray tool, which can identify the actors present in the scene (as well as their previous appearances) or even provide access to the music used. Note that interviews with the actors are also available via the “bonus” tab. They allow us to highlight important moments and obtain further information from the creator and his teams.
