Duo, choirs and pop-folk for the 2024 Music Festival in Carolles

The municipality of Carolles, a town located in the heart of the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, will celebrate music on Friday June 21 on the camp site.

The activities of this 2024 Music Festival will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the performance of the children’s choir from the Marin-Marie school. It will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by that of the local choir of Voice of Ludedirected by Sylvie Laigneau.

A rock duo

At 8 p.m., François Blin (guitar and vocals) and Valérie Cohen (percussion and vocals), aka Johan and Betty, will take over.

” These songwriters are united in a rock and roll duo inspired by groups from the anti-folk scene (Moldy Peaches, Adam Green, Jeffrey Lewis, Herman Dune”, explains Véronique Fagart, municipal councilor. “Both compose songs together which they perform with double vocals or alternating leads and choruses After five albums in English over the last decade, they are now turning to a repertoire in French mixing compositions and covers, always in an assumed minimalist style.

The Swedes of Wittmar

Finally at 9 p.m., Wittmar, a group of five Swedish musicians formed in 2020, will in turn perform as part of a European tour.

His influences are folk/world, American blues and progressive rock from the 1970s.

“It’s a velvety, dark musical universe with forest scents, always firmly rooted in Nordic soil,” explains Véronique Fagart.

In 2022, the group debuted with three singles, noted by, among others, Hymn and Popmuzik.

Friday June 21, 2024, from 6:30 p.m., Carolles campsite, in the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Free entry, refreshment bar and catering on site. If the weather is unfavorable, the event will be moved to the François Simon space, 45, rue Division Leclerc.
