The Georges-Rouquier association is offering the 15th outdoor cinema event on Saturday June 29 with a general audience film “Django” by Étienne Comar with Reda Kateb and Cécile De France. In 1943 during the German occupation, the gypsy Django Reinhardt, a true “guitar hero”, was at the top of his art.

Every evening he makes all of Paris vibrate at the Folies Bergères with his swing music while in Europe his brothers are hunted and massacred. When German propaganda wants to send him to Berlin for a series of concerts, he senses the danger and decides to escape to Switzerland helped by one of his admirers.

40 years of Biquefarre

During this dramatic period, he nonetheless remained an exceptional musician who resisted with his music, his humor and who sought to approach musical perfection.

This evening of open-air cinema is free with musical entertainment and an aperitif dinner (charcuterie and cheese) from 8 p.m. on the church square. The film will be shown around 10:15 p.m. In the event of bad weather, people will move to the village hall.

At the Belcastel tourist office, the temporary exhibition “40 years Biquefarre” is visible from June 15 to July 15.

The space is open in June from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Friday to Sunday and in July and August from Tuesday to Sunday. Guided tours for groups by reservation on 05 65 42 19 89 or www.espacegeorgesrouquier.fr
