“It comes from television people who have nothing to do with our profession. They don’t know it, they don’t know how it works” declared Michel Fugain in We’re doing TV again. Anyone who has never been a fervent supporter of talent shows finds that these programs give an image far removed from the reality of the profession.
According to the singer, certain aspects of these shows, such as the compulsory duets, can detract from the authenticity of the performance. “They put so-and-so together, except thatthey don’t sing in the same key since girls have a difference with men, that is to say that when they sing the song, it will necessarily be to the detriment of one of them,” he explains.
Despite his reservations, Michel Fugain says he is ready to offer his support and share his experience with the young talents of the Star Academy. Above all, he wishes to create moments of “love, friendship and tenderness” with the participants, ensuring that he will approach this adventure with kindness. The condition? Sing with a male student to balance vocal ranges.
