Hawaii bird products and by-products: meat, eggs, feathers and other products and by-products of chicken, rooster, duck, goose and other wild and backyard birds pending further information can be reported by passengers and will be turned away on arrival if discovered.

Concerning imports carried out by professionals, only products and by-products accompanied by an official certificate issued by the competent American authorities and therefore meeting the regulatory conditions will remain authorized.

Avian flu is a disease widespread throughout the world with regular outbreaks, particularly in mainland and the United States. Strict compliance with biosecurity rules by passengers arriving in French Polynesia is essential to protect the territory from this disease which would wipe out the poultry industry and which can also, in rare cases, be transmitted to humans.

Stay informed about animal health requirements for imports by visiting the biosecurity website or the Facebook page of the Biosecurity Directorate of French Polynesia.
