The 10th edition of Delémont’BD opens this Friday in the Jura capital. Until June 16, 15,000 visitors are expected during the three days of the event which welcomes around fifty Swiss and foreign comic book authors, including François Schuiten and Léonie Bischoff.

The program promises to be rich in the streets of Delémont between a tour of twenty-three exhibitions in the old town, activities, cartoon performances and a musical show entitled “The Return of Captain Nemo”.

As for the guest of honor, the Grand Trissou in local language, let us recall the arrival of the Belgian cartoonist François Schuiten, author of the series “Les Cités obscures” and more recently of a touching and intimate album on Jim, his flat- coat retriever, faithful companion who died recently.

A balanced program

For his first edition at the head of the event, Cédric Humair and his team have achieved a great challenge: that of creating a balanced program from all points of view. Of the fifty invited designers, parity is almost achieved with 47% women.

With twenty-five representatives, the Swiss delegation is not left out. Among these we can cite Léonie Bischoff, doubly awarded in Angoulême for “Anaïs Nin” and “La longue marche des turkeys”, the Lausanne mangaka Yami Shin or even the French-speaking press cartoonists Bertschy and Vincent l’Epée.
