Severe thunderstorm warnings are currently in effect for the Outaouais and eastern Ontario regions.

The areas of Fort William, Shawville, Low, Wakefield, Maniwaki and Gracefield were placed under severe thunderstorm warning shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday. A severe thunderstorm watch particularly affects the cities of Ottawa and Gatineau, as well as the Prescott and Russell sectors.

A tornado watch is in effect for the entire Outaouais, with the exception of Gatineau. It also affects the areas of Renfrew, Pembroke, Arnprior, Calabogie, Killaloe, Barry’s Bay, Smiths Falls, Perth and East Lanark County.

Some of these weather watches and alerts have been in effect since Thursday morning for some regions of the Outaouais and eastern Ontario.

First evening of FFO canceled due to weather

The Festival franco-ontarien (FFO) has canceled all shows scheduled for Thursday evening due to weather conditions, the team announced on its social networks.

Organizers first interrupted the festival due to “a warning of electrical storms,” less than an hour after the start of the first show of the 49th edition of the FFOfeaturing artist Paul Beaubrun.
