As reported by BFMTV, Thursday November 7, a preliminary investigation for “sexual harassment aggravated by the use of a digital or electronic medium” was opened by the Saint-Étienne public prosecutor’s office against the singer Slimane. In a press release, the city’s public prosecutor indicated that the investigations were entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division of the Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police of the Loire.
This investigation was opened after the filing of a complaint for sexual harassment against the representative of France at Eurovision in May 2024. Monday October 28, a former technician from Slimane’s tour filed a complaint against him in Saint-Étienne for alleged acts of “sexual harassment”. The events allegedly took place last December on the sidelines of a concert at the city’s Zénith.

The Saint-Étienne prosecutor was waiting to have “evidence” from the plaintiff’s lawyer before deciding to open an investigation against the singer, who was recently rewarded at the NRJ Music Awards. According to The ParisianSlimane allegedly sent numerous messages to the complainant on WhatsApp messaging, but also photos and videos of a sexual nature. Images and screenshots of the text messages were included in the complaint. The videos in question, collected on a USB key, were filed with the public prosecutor’s office before the investigation was opened.
