Born Pogorzelski on July 29, 1949 in Paris, Patricia Garnier spent her entire career in fashionworking in particular at Le Printemps store.
Married to Jean-Marc Garnier, now deceased, she had with him two daughters Nadège and Julie, who gave them eight grandchildren: Arthur, Hugo, Pénélope, Donaé, Uenny, Scarlette, Benicia and Emmanuel.
A retired sales executive, Patricia Garnier had settled in Bagnoles (Orne) around twenty years ago.
In a relationship with Jean-Paul Lunel, she was involved with him in several associations, notablyt Bagnoles Aventure Humanitaire, Avenue des Frères Lumière.
Having a social fiber, she participated in the mobilization for the reception of Ukrainian refugee families in the spa in 2022.
“She was a determined woman”
Passionate about the theater, in 2017, she played the character of Thérèse du Santa Claus is trash within the local troupe Les Espoirs. Elected municipal councilor in 2014, and re-elected in 2020, she was president of the municipal authority which manages the Bruyères aerodrome in Couterne. A position which also led her to become vice-president of the Association of French Aerodromes. She was also part of the CCAS (communal social action center) and the school board.
“She was a very determined woman in the actions she wanted to take, she followed through on things,” confides Mayor Olivier Petitjean. This is a great loss for us and for the city. She was very involved in the community, took care of others, paid attention to each of us. She was particularly involved in making masks during the covid period. The image I will keep of her is her constant smile.”
Tuesday October 29, following health problems, Patricia Garnier died at the age of 75, at the Andaines Hospital Center in La Ferté-Macé. A final tribute will be paid to him this Thursday, November 7, at 3 p.m., in the ceremony room of the Mayenne crematorium.
