The Jenisch Museum in Vevey has unveiled its four new autumn exhibitions. Various exhibitions, which allow you to show the public behind the scenes.
In order to enrich its collection, the Jenisch Museum can often count on purchases, bequests, or even deposits of works. And sometimes, it is the artists themselves or their loved ones who offer their work as donations. Nathalie Chaix, director of the Vevey institution.
When artists offer their work to the Museum, they are normally the ones who select the pieces they wish to offer. 3 artists, Andrea Gabutti, Gaspard Delachaux and Charles de Montaigu decided to open their workshop to the director of the Jenisch Museum and her colleagues, so that they could choose what they liked. A rare approach that touched Nathalie Chaix.
One of the Jenisch Museum’s autumn exhibitions, entitled “Where I Come From” offers the public the opportunity to discover the other side of different works from the Vevey collection and their journey. Some paintings have literally been placed so that the visitor can see the back of the work, where the labels of the previous owners appear. An almost interactive moment for the public, according to Pamela Guerdat, assistant curator and curator of the exhibition.
All the information is on the Jenisch Museum website.
