King Albert II is 90 years old: discover these four historic family photos revealed by the Royal Palace

At 90 years old, King Albert II appears in good shape alongside his son, King Philippe and his granddaughter, Princess Elisabeth. For its anniversary, the Royal Palace unveils these four photos.

King Albert II celebrates his 90th birthday on June 6. For the occasion, the Royal Palace unveils four official photos: he is accompanied by his son, King Philippe and his granddaughter, Princess Elisabeth.

It is a historical cliché: three generations of sovereigns, the past, the present and the future, are thus represented. They matched their respective outfits, with a shade of blue, a nod to a long family tradition.

The King, smiling, also poses with his son, his successor, King Philippe. It’s been almost 11 years since he passed the torch. It was July 21, 2013.

The image is quite touching, King Albert II looks at his granddaughter with a smile on his lips. She is back from Oxford, where she studies, for her grandfather’s birthday. According to our sources, the King is particularly proud of the career of Princess Elisabeth, who was recently admitted to Harvard University in the United States.

Finally, the Royal Palace shares a portrait of the former king of the Belgians. Let’s notice this touch of fantasy: a light blue tie, decorated with small fish.
