After a first residency last March, Jean Couhet-Guichot, actor and author, and Gaya Wisniewski, illustrator of children’s books, are preparing to stay a second time in the Conques-Marcillac region at the beginning of June. Invited and supported by the community of communes, in partnership with Drac Occitanie and the departmental media library of Aveyron, they are currently preparing the writing of a youth album inspired by the show “Bateau”, written and performed, according to one -man alone on stage by Jean Couhet-Guichot from the Toulouse company “Les hommes sensible”.

Wednesday June 5, these two artists will offer an illustration workshop, “crayons à corps”, at the Sénérgues library (10 hours). Aimed at adults, this workshop will combine body expression and painting. The same day, at the Nauviale library (2 p.m.), they will lead a parent/child workshop where illustration and object repurposing techniques will come together. These two workshops are by reservation at 06 65 47 97 02 (limited capacity). Thursday June 6, they will come to meet the public at 6:30 p.m. at the Valady library for a restitution of their residence and the opening of their exhibition, an exhibition which allows us to lift the veil on the secrets of their creative process.

Indeed, the two artists have been in correspondence since the start of their project and exchange drawings, poems, photographs, postcards, biscuits… And even the ukulele.

The exhibition will then be visible in several libraries of the public reading network (Valady, Noailhac and Sénérgues) between June and September.

Jean and Gaya will be back for a meeting in the fall where they will share with the public the progress of the writing of their youth album.
