Host Sébastien Cauet, removed from the radio NRJ, was indicted on Friday May 24, 2024 for rape and sexual assault on four women, three of whom were minors at the time of the alleged acts, indicated the Paris prosecutor’s office, requested by AFP. Information which was first announced by RTL And BFMTV .

The former star presenter, who contests the accusations, has been placed under judicial supervision, “with in particular the obligation to pay a deposit of €100,000” and of “follow care”, said the public prosecutor. When asked, his lawyers did not wish to react.

He had been referred earlier in the day, after having spent two days in police custody as part of an investigation targeting him for acts of sexual assault and rape.

Accusations of rape and sexual assault

The prosecution had requested his indictment for three rapes, including two against minors over 15 years old at the time of the alleged acts, as well as for a sexual assault on a minor over 15 years old, indicated theAFP Earlier in the day. The indictment was requested with the aggravating circumstance of the minority of victims identified by the prosecution.

Sébastien Cauet is thus suspected by the prosecution of having raped a woman born in September 1998, in November 2014 in Geneva. The prosecution also requests that Sébastien Cauet be indicted for corruption of minors over 15 years old committed between January 2014 and September 2016, to the detriment of this first woman. The host is also accused of having raped another woman, born in March 1982 and a teenager at the time of the events, in December 1997 in Paris.

Regarding the sexual assault, it was allegedly committed in December 2012 against a woman born in September 1995, also a minor over 15 years old.

The host is also accused of the rape of an adult woman, born in October 1973. It was allegedly committed in 2011 in Paris.

The host denies

The 52-year-old host, removed from the air NRJ disputes all of these accusations. He claims to be the victim of cyberharassment, slanderous denunciation and attempted extortion. He filed a complaint, leading to the opening of two preliminary investigations in Nanterre.
