The singer Vianney, who stopped concerts and tours for several years, organized a concert for the benefit of the Telethon. He confides in BFMTV about his first ten years of career.

On October 20, 2014, exactly ten years ago, Vianney released his first album, White ideas. His first success, which made him one of the most popular singers in . For the tenth anniversary of his career, the man who is the fifth favorite personality of the French organized a charity concert.

While the singer had made the decision to do more of the stage three years ago, he gave a concert for the benefit of the Telethon 2024 at the Ferber studio in on Sunday evening. With his guitar, Vianney covered several of his hits including Not there during a livestream concert. Last night, nearly 20,000 euros had been raised.

“No nostalgia”

On the occasion of his ten-year career, Vianney confides to BFMTV that he “doesn’t feel” nostalgic. “It’s very important, we remember it from these first meetings with the public. (But) I have much more precise memories of my last tours.” And to add:

“However, I’m happy to have moved forward. So no nostalgia. The tenth anniversary concert was really to say thank you. It was the basis. Afterwards I wanted it to be accessible and for it to have meaning.”

“It is not my ambition to be of my time”

Vianney also talks about what makes him unique in the French musical landscape: “We never do things better when we do something that resembles us. I try not to be stuck in an era. It’s not my ambition to be of my time. I don’t think like that. I want to make music that I like.”

The singer, who released a record of duets and trios in 2023, At 2 to 3has no plans to return to the stage at the moment. His latest project? Write half of the songs for Kendji Girac’s latest album, Vivre. A way for him to provide support after his gunshot wound.

“I’ve had love for him for a long time. We’ve developed a friendship over the years. I love him and obviously when he’s not well, I’m not well. I wanted to tell him I put a lot of heart and he put a lot of voice into it, it’s an adventure that I really enjoyed,” he concludes.
