Since yesterday and until this Sunday evening, the Montargue association is offering Lire en savanes, an event which revolves around the reading of writing and the arts. This year the theme of sport was chosen.
Literature, a photo exhibition, sculpture, sport… This is what the Montargue association is offering this weekend on the Kourou seafront with its Read in Savanes operation.
The event, which started this Saturday, October 19, revolves around the reading of writing and the arts. The theme chosen this year: sport in all its forms. For Juliana Rimane, president of the Montargue association, the idea was to ride the wave of the Olympic Games. “Sport is expressed in literature, art, etc. We wanted to continue this commitment to keep moving.”
Among the invited artists: the Malagasy Narcisse Ranarison, a regular reader in the savannah. On the seafront, the public can see him sculpting wood, but also sand. An art that he has been developing for 40 years.
Another guest, manga artist Teeyanndee. In addition to his literary work as a mangaka, Planet Takoohe developed the first Caribbean combat game inspired by the Antilles-Guyana and Africa. Its goal “to highlight the martial arts of the Caribbean.”
The operation, overseen by the Montargue association, ends this Sunday evening in Kourou.
