Overseas creators invite themselves to AKAA – Also Known As Africa

AKA. Also Known As Africa, the major contemporary art and design fair from Africa and its diaspora opens its doors today in . Victoria Mann, founder of AKAA, Chloé Robert, visual artist who lives in Island, and Florence Poirier-Nkpa, artist and founder of the artist collective Head Made Factory, are invited to talk about it. An edition teeming with diversity of arts and origins.

AKAA opens its doors for its 9th edition at Carreau du Temple. Forty-one exhibitors, more than a hundred artists from Africa and around the world. In this abundant edition, our gaze will irresistibly focus on contemporary ultra-marine creation. Because the organizers have decided to put them in the spotlight with three galleries and thirteen artists from Reunion Island, Guadeloupe and even Haiti. A question arises, how to expose yourself when you come from the Caribbean and overseas, how to dialogue with Africa and America?

Victoria Mann, Florence Poirier Nkpa and Chloé Robert are the guests of VMDN. The exhibition AKAA, Also Known As Africa opens its doors on October 18, 2024 at Temple tilein Paris, for its 9th edition.
