Produced by Orion Productionin collaboration with Event Lines, The escapees from Tindouf will be screened from November 6, 2024 on the occasion of the celebrations of the Green Walk.

The film tells the story of five men and two women who managed to escape from Tindouf camps.

In a valley considered the only access to cross part of the desert, the protagonists took up the challenge of reaching Morocco through the Algerian and Saharan desert. Fear, hunger, fatigue, hallucinations and daily danger transform this journey into a real struggle for survival.

“This film immerses us in a journey for freedom in the face of the horror of the camps and the injustice suffered for decades,” explains Médias24 Karim Doniazalle who co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Abdelhak Najib. With palpable emotion, he presents to us a work which addresses “the heroism and thirst for freedom of a group of men determined to change their destiny”.

“This film recounts the courage of these men who, risking their lives, chose to escape from this open-air prison.”

According to the film’s co-writer, the goal is to “show not only suffering, but also hope, determination and human strength in the face of oppression.” A cinematic work that reminds us that even in the darkest moments, the human spirit always yearns for freedom.

The actors Driss Roukhe, Mohamed Choubi, Kamal Haimoud, Yassine Abdelkader, Abdelhak Najib, Imane Kandili and Alia Ben Cheikh participated in this film.
