Eight months after being released from prison, rapper MHD made his comeback on stage.

And not just any scene: that of the prestigious Accor Arena Bercy in . He participated on Thursday evening (October 16, 24) in the show of French rapper Werenoi, as evidenced by videos filmed during the concert and relayed on social networks, as well as a video on the Skyrock website, organizer of the event.

More discreetly, MHD, real name Mohamed Sylla, performed on stage at the Adidas Arena in Paris. He participated on October 5 in the Game Over 3 concert, with RK, Kerchak, Da Uzi, DADI, Nahir and Yorssy.

The career of the 30-year-old rapper, of African origins, born in Vendée but who grew up in Paris, was interrupted when he was allegedly involved in a sordid crime against a young man, Loïc K., in July 2018. The rapper’s car crushed him during a brawl between rival gangs.

MHD had started very well. His hit to the glory of PSG made him popular in 2015. His videos are viral. He was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique in 2017 and became the ambassador of the German brand Puma. His album 19 was certified platinum in January 2019. And he made his cinema debut with My Brother, by Julien Abraham.

But, implicated in the murder of Loïc K, he was placed in pre-trial detention at the Santé prison in January 2019. Which did not prevent him from continuing his music. He returns with a single from another version of Afro Trap. “Afro-trap” is a musical genre that MHD says it invented. It is a mixture of rap and African music.

The rapper then released an album which went gold in October 2022. Although he maintained his innocence, in September 2023, he was sentenced to twelve years in prison. His lawyers appeal; on February 2, 2024, MHD was released.

While awaiting his trial, MHD recently released two new singles, Full and Kata, which are a hit on streaming platforms.
