The juries of the Grand Prix du Novel Métis 2024 and the Prix du Novel Métis des Lecteurs de la Ville de Saint-Denis () revealed this Thursday, October 17, during a press conference at the François-Mitterrand media library in Saint-Denis (Reunion). -Denis, the finalists of the two Métis novel prizes.

Organized by La Réunion des Livres for the city of Saint-Denis (Reunion) and the cultural affairs department of Reunion with the support of Sofia, the Grand Prix du roman Métis rewards a French-speaking novel, released during the year, for “its values ​​of cross-breeding, humanism and diversity”. Since 2017, the Métis Readers’ Novel Prize has also been awarded in December.

The jury for the Grand Prix du roman Métis brings together professionals from the book world and the 2023 winners: Mohammed Aïssaoui, Sonia Bardinot, Leïla Bouherrafa, Xavier Le Clerc, Marie-Claude Derby, Michel Éthève, Katia Leloutre, Yannick Lepoan, Valérie Magdelaine and Philippe Vallée.

Under the presidency of Karine Angamathe jury for the Métis Readers’ Novel Prize includes 15 members representing the libraries and media libraries of the public reading network of Saint-Denis and the intercommunal community of northern Reunion (CINOR): Karine Angama (president)Daisy Casolari, Stéphane Devin, Robin Fabre, Sandra Folio, Hélène Frogneux, Marie-Paule Galois, Karine Garel, Sanja Giraud, Maxime Guieu, Amélie Louvet, Laura Maillot, Christian Rivière, Florence Schulmann and Nathalie Torsiello-Savini.

The winners of each category will be revealed on November 14 and will receive their prize on December 3 during a ceremony organized at Château Morange in Saint-Denis.

Last year, Xavier Le Clerc won the Grand Prize for A man without a title (Gallimard) and Marie-Claude Derbythe readers’ prize for I’ll see you girl (Les Editions of December 20).
