Big winner of the Cinespaña festival, the musical feature film “La Estrella azul” won five prizes including the Golden Violet for best film. A screening takes place this Sunday at Pathé Wilson in .

Chaired by the Franco-Portuguese actress and director Maria de Medeiros, the jury of the Cinespaña festival voted for “La Estrella azul” (“The Blue Star”) by Javier Macipe. This road movie takes you on a journey to Spain and Argentina in a moving quest for musical inspiration in the land of Atahualpa Yupanqui and Mercedes Sosa who also magnificently sang this “Estrella azul”. This professional choice joins that of the spectators who awarded him the Audience Award.

“Estamos no ar”, a funny and offbeat Portuguese film, won three awards including the New Filmmaker Prize for Diogo Costa Amarante. The two films will be screened on Sunday October 13, the closing day of the 29e edition of Cinespaña which welcomed prestigious guests including actress Ana Torrent and director Isabel Coixet. The musical and festive evening of Saturday October 5, in the Ensav courtyard, allowed us to console ourselves for the absence of the village, due to the closure of the Cinémathèque courtyard for long works.
