The Marnais orchestra Millenium and its Ringmaster Laurent Jouglet will be on the stage of the Atmosphère this Friday, October 18, at 8:30 p.m., in a concert in a unique format, a tribute (tribute in the language of Molière) to Florent Pagny. “This is the first time that we have set up this type of representation, I have been working on it daily since February”indicates the head of the orchestra.

He who already sports a bit of the singer’s look, small beard, backwards beret and lithotherapy gri-gri necklace around his neck, will step into the skin of the singer and deliver a retrospective of all his greatest hits, from 1988 to today today: Caruso, Knowing how to love, Singing, My freedom of thought, Châtelet-les Halles…nearly twenty titles will be played in front of the public. “I’ve been doing this job for 40 years and as Aznavour said, having a seated audience in front of me makes my heart beat, laughs the manager. We chose Florent Pagny, because he is a monument of French song but also because the vocal signature resembles me. He is an artist who has accompanied me since my beginnings and I have sung all his songs. »

Six members of the orchestra will be on stage to accompany him, four musicians, including his son on guitar, and two backing singers, his wife and his daughter, “because the orchestra is also a family affair”he notes.

On the stage side, Laurent focused on the visual: “Our LED screens will create a luminous setting and, with each title, there will be a change of scenery, he explains. For example, for Châtelet-Les Halles, it will be a metro station, for Caruso, an opera or for Dors, a little girl’s bedroom. »

Four musicians and two backing vocalists will accompany Laurent Jouglet on stage in this retrospective of Florent Pagny’s greatest hits.

In the middle of each interpretation, the singer also planned to slip in spoken interludes, “to evoke anecdotes relating to Pagny’s career, or the genesis of the song that I am about to sing”.

Already nearly 300 people out of a capacity of around 600 – have reserved their place for the show – which will last a little over two hours.

After Rethel, the orchestra will travel to the Chemin Vert theater in on November 14, before a national tour: “A production spotted us on the internet and decided to organize a tour. That, plus having a new experience at 56, is truly unique. As Brel said, finish as a beginner”finishes Laurent, definitely not stingy with quotes.
