Deal done is a show where individuals come and sell objects to professional buyers. Each object is first estimated by an expert, which determines its value based on its history and characteristics. Afterwards, buyers bid between them to obtain the object, raising the price if several are interested. The seller can accept or decline the highest offer, thus completing the sale if satisfied. Presented by Julia Vignali, who succeeded Sophie Davant, the show has established itself as an unmissable event for many viewers. A success due to its concept, but also to the different buyer personaswho don’t hesitate to lash out when they have a crush.

Buyers in awe of an object presented

In the show broadcast on Monday October 7, 2024, buyers found themselves facing a designer lighting fixture brought by Emmanuelle. A rare and authentic model which has been estimated at 300 euros. All buyers fell for this opal glass pendant light. “It’s a killer, it’s in perfect condition“, exclaimed Caroline Margeridon, one of the key figures of this program. As a result, at the time of the auction, buyers fought to acquire the object. The chandelier very quickly exceeded his estimate. In the end, only Laurent Fernandez and Belgian Georges Van Cauwenbergh were still in the running. The battle was fierce between the two specialists. “I’m not going to let it happen“, exclaimed Laurent Fernandez, while his colleague did not want to give up either.

A sale price three times higher than the estimate

Ultimately, it was Laurent Fernandez who had the last word by proposing 1120 euros. “I leave. Really, it’s a very nice offer. 1100 was really my maximum“, declared Georges Van Cauwenbergh. “It’s a very very nice sale“, underlined all the buyers. Tested by this battle of numbers, Laurent confided on camera: “It’s hell to shoot with Georges. He is on all matters, he doesn’t let go (…) I had difficulty but I am delighted“. Emmanuelle, for her part, left the set of the show happy. The sale of her item greatly exceeded her expectations!
