Luluberlu, the children’s show festival in the town of Blagnac, will take place from May 24 to 26 around the Odyssud cultural space. Around thirty shows, mostly free, are offered to families, as well as numerous workshops, films and exhibitions on the theme of space.

Children are in the spotlight from May 24 to 26 in Blagnac, during the 16e edition of Luluberlu. The festival for young audiences is taking place this year on the theme of space. Twenty-nine live shows, including twenty-five free, are offered to families at the Odyssud cultural space and in its park. Theater, music, circus, clown, puppets, the programming is very diverse. It was designed for young and very young audiences, that is to say for children from approximately one to twelve years old. “Culture, you have to start very early,” defends Joseph Carles, mayor of the city.

Young and old will enjoy the shows, carefully chosen for their artistic quality. “Parents won’t be bored!” assures Maya Yie, in charge of programming the festival. On site, everything is planned so that families can stay from morning to evening: catering, changing or nap areas in the games library. Some festive highlights will bring together all participants. Friday, the first evening ends with “Herbert’s Dream”, a large light show wandering through the park. Saturday and Sunday, the day ends in style with the wild and crazy concert of the group The Party.

Shows with atypical forms

Some animations have more atypical shapes. Thus, “umbrella ladies” will wander among visitors telling them strange stories. Saturday evening after sunset, those who stayed will surprise giant light puppets wandering around the park. That’s not all: around thirty activities will be offered throughout the city, including manual and creative workshops. These are of special importance to the organizing team. “We want children to be not just spectators but actors,” says Joseph Carles. Engaging the public is also the ambition of certain shows, during which families will have to solve puzzles to escape the fate of a Lilliputian or write a letter in a few minutes.

“Many Blagnac residents, volunteers, associations and schools, have invested in this festival,” rejoices the mayor. Part of the scenography is created by children, in primary schools and leisure centers. 200 people will participate in the “Tout Blagnac chante” performance, for the opening of the festival on Friday at 6 p.m. 20,000 visitors are expected for this major event, the organization of which will have cost the city half a million euros.

From Friday May 24 at 4:30 p.m. to Sunday May 26 at 7 p.m. 25 free shows, some of which require reservation, 4 paying (€6 to €10). Odyssud, 4 avenue du parc, Blagnac. Reservation on festival-luluberlu.fr, at the Odyssud ticket office or at this number: 06 61 71 75 15.
