While season 6 of Virgin River is coming soon to Netflix, fans of the series are being treated to some very good news, which will take them into a whole new world of drama and twists and turns…

This was the good news at the start of October: Netflix announced Monday October 7 the broadcast date for season 6 of Virgin River. Mel and Jack will be back to spoil subscribers at Christmas since the ten episodes will be available from December 19. And, while a rumor concerns a possible spin-off dedicated to Mel’s parents, this is another announcement that could delight fans, with the new project of Sue Tenney, the creator of the series. Because, if Virgin River is adapted from the books by Robyn Carr, it is indeed Sue Tenney who put them on the screen. While she left the production of Virgin River after season 4, she embarked on a new adaptation, hand in hand with Amy Palmer Robertson, former screenwriter of Virgin River.

The creator of Virgin River adapts a new bestselling book into a series!

After having successfully teamed up for the creation of the series Virgin River and the production of its first seasons, Sue Tenney and Amy Palmer Robertson therefore come together for a brand new creation. This is the adaptation of the book The Lifeguards by American author Amanda Eyre Ward, a true bestseller in the United States, released in 2022. The book follows the story of three mothers and their relationships with their teenage sons. The novel is described as “domestic fiction”, punctuated by betrayals, drama and suspense… The ideal ingredient for a good series!

A sexy and dramatic thriller series“, according to Sue Tenney and Amy Palmer Robertson

The two friends will produce the series for the Wiip studio, behind successful series like Mare of Easttown, The summer I became pretty or the biopic Pistols. “We were immediately drawn to Amanda Ward’s bright and juicy page-turner because of its frank exploration of the complicated relationships between mothers and their sons, all set against the backdrop of a delightful murder mystery“, the two producers confided to the American media Deadline. “Thanks to Wiip, a studio that has mastered the art of creative and captivating storytelling, we have the freedom to create a sexy, dramatic, thought-provoking thriller series filled with exciting and unpredictable twists and turns.“If the series does not yet have an official broadcaster, these first elements are already making your mouth water.
