Titouan unveils the clip for “Comme ci, comme ça”, the title which will represent France

The 14-year-old filmed this Gare de video a few weeks ago. He will fly to Madrid in November to represent with this title.

The song that will represent France at Junior Eurovision 2024 features a music video. Titouan, 14-year-old teenager who will defend the tricolor flag in Madrid on November 16 with the title Like this, like thatunveils the accompanying video this Thursday, October 10.

Filming took place at the end of September at Gare de Lyon, in . Faced with obviously surprised travelers, the young singer sat at the piano made available to users to interpret the first words of his song, before being joined by a team of dancers when the title takes off in pop.

The filming location was not chosen at random: Titouan had his first hour of fame on the internet by filming, in this same station two years ago, a revival ofAlicia Keys. Installed at the piano made available to travelers, the young Quimperois performed the song Fallin’ before posting the video to YouTube.

“I’ve always played in train stations, that’s how I made myself known,” he told BFMTV during the filming of the music video for ‘Comme ci, comme ça’. “I really like the symbolism and the location, I really love this choice.”

This multi-instrumentalist, born into a Breton family keen on music, already has great experience on stage: he participated in musical telecrochets The Voice Kids et Dream Teamon TF1. At the time of the selections to find the French candidate for Junior Eurovision 2024, he had managed to win against around twenty candidates: “He sat down at the piano and the magic happened”, summarized Alexandra Redde-Amiel , head of the French delegation, to AFP a few weeks ago.

France, star of the competition

He takes up the torch after two consecutive French victories: that of Lissandro, in 2022, with Oh mom!then that of Zoé Clauzure last year with the song Heart. In fact, this Madrid edition is surprising; as with the adult version of the competition, tradition dictates that the winning country hosts the competition the following year. But this is not an obligation: as recalled the European Broadcasting Union (UER), a victorious country has priority to host the next edition but it can refuse it.

And France is multiplying its victories in the Junior competition, which it has won three times since 2020. In fact, if it had organized the 2024 vintage, it would have been the third French edition in four years.

“We don’t want there to be a monopoly”

The day after Zoé Clauzure’s victory, the director of antennas and programs at France Télévisions had also mentioned the possibility of handing over for this year:

“There are many countries that want to organize, we do not want there to be a French monopoly on Junior Eurovision,” he declared in the columns of 20 minutes.

As a reminder, Spain placed second at Junior Eurovision 2023 with the young Sandra Valero and her title Loviu.
