Anne Hathaway apologizes to journalist to whom she gave ‘horrible’ interview 12 years ago

Anne Hathaway has issued a “very personal” apology following an interview that didn’t go well several years ago.

The ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ actress responded to journalist Kjersti Flaa about a 2012 interview to promote ‘Les Miserables,’ during which the actress gave a one-word response and refused to answer his first question in song after a joke from the journalist.

In a new TikTok video, a week after reposting the awkward conversation, the journalist said: “I have to say I was quite shocked [par les excuses d’Anne, ndlr]. I didn’t expect her to contact me at all. I thought she would never see this video, but she saw it and she did something pretty incredible.”

Kjersti revealed that in that email, Anne explained what she was facing at the time and apologized for “a horrible interview.”

During the initial conversation, the star simply answered no to questions about whether she remembered her first crush or whether she thought “love was more passionate” during the ‘Les Misérables’ era.

Kjersti admitted the apology was touching.

She continued: “Just talking about it almost brought tears to my eyes. I was so grateful that she did it. It was a very personal note and we decided not to share the exact content from the email, but I just wanted to share with you what she did because I thought it was just amazing.”

She accepted the star’s apology for her behavior.
