After working for the family for 25 years Aga Khanincluding 17 as director of the Aiglemont center, Pierre Groualle took up coaching in December 2022 at Sweet whipped creamnotably supervising the Cantilian workforce of the family Chehboub since a few months.
Doubly represented this Sunday at ParisLongchampthe professional from La Manche will saddle the perfectible Iberia (R1 – 107) in the opening event, a conditions race which takes place over the mile: “For me, she is a real 1,400 meter filly but I can’t find the right entry. The other day, it was a bit short over 1,300 meters and I almost didn’t run her because she hates soft ground. It happened too quickly that day and Marie Velon respected her. On her own, however, she finished well. The filly is in good condition and will have her field. There are maybe one or two horses better than her here but, if she does what I think of her, she should be able to finish third or fourth. She has qualities and will aim for a place in such a field. »
After winning its first Quinté+ a week ago, Pierre Groualle will present Central Park West (R1 – 412), his first winner as a trainer, in Sunday’s at ParisLongchamp: “He’s a chic horse who always does his best. It rarely disappoints us. With a number a little outside last time, he got off to a good start and didn’t have time to breathe at the right time. He still showed himself courageous, not finishing far from third. The original plan was to compete in the Quinté+ next Tuesday over 1,600 meters in Saint-Cloud, but the return of the rains made me change my mind, hence this supplement. He has already run well on the Longchamp mile. I think he can go the distance but going from 1,600 meters on sand to 2,000 meters on grass is still a step to take. He always gives his best, but the number all out in the stalls can be problematic. »
