The 70 choristers from the North will be on stage Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Jean-Marc Dion Hall. The show is called “Destination, a song package just for you”.
It addresses the theme of travel, a nod to the past of Guy Porlier, choir director and founder of the Chœur du Nord. For 4 years he was a singer on cruise ships. “Each group of singers will arrive on stage, each representing one of the islands of Sept-Îles”
The repertoire will be varied, with songs from several artists. Ginette Reno, 2Frères, Starmania and a tribute to Cowboys Fringants will be part of the repertoire, among others.
Accommodate the public
Mr. Porlier wants to ensure that as many people as possible can attend the show. There was a full house last year and we had to turn away people. This is why this year there will be two performances. Guy Porlier will kill two birds with one stone to accommodate a larger audience and offer a more varied schedule.
“We had people last year who told us that they loved it, but that it was a little late in the evening for them. They gave us the idea of doing an afternoon show”
