A collective of Poitevin festivals with variable geometry, the Vienne Fest’ continues the great adventure started in 2016. No departure among the members this year, but a notable arrival: that of the Esprit Rock Festival – scheduled for September 7, 2024, in Antran – which brings the total to fourteen festivals offering no less than 80 contemporary music concerts in 27 days of programming, from May to September.

Among the fourteen festivals of the Vienne Fest’, a large part is in fact concentrated south of Poitiers: starting with Les Impro’bables, in Lathus-Saint-Rémy, which opens the season this weekend, at the same time as the Anthems of Steel metal music festival, in Chauvigny.
Another major musical event organized in South Vienna, La Voix du rock will hold its 9e edition, in Couhé, May 31 and 1er next June. The two stages set up in the park of Valence Abbey will host some of the emblematic groups of the indie rock scene: Les Négresses vertes, Deportivo, Les Sheriff, La Ruda or even Les Garçons bouchers and Gogol Premier.
Among the other southern Poitevin festivals included in the collective, let us also mention Mélusik (June 7 and 8, in Lusignan), Jazeneuil en fête (June 15 and 16, in Jazeneuil), Le Chant des grêles (June 28 and 29, in Vivonne), the Jeunes shoots festival (August 31, in Ceaux-en-Couhé) or even Festi’Gartempe (September 20 to 22, in Montmorillon) which will close the season.
The other festivals are located in the greater suburbs of Poitiers, such as Le Lavoir electric (Saturday June 22, in Vouneuil-sous-Biard), Biard dans les airs (June 28 and 29, in Biard) and Monta’music (the 23 and August 24, in Montamisé), in Chauvinois (Art’Cacius, Saturday July 6, in Valdivienne) and on the Poitiers-Châtellerault axis (Baillarock Festival, May 24 and 25, in Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux ).
In total, no fewer than 30,000 festival-goers are expected, from spring to fall, by the approximately 180 organizers and the thousand volunteers mobilized for these fourteen events.

And that The Electric Lavoir changes its date: usually organized on the first Saturday in July, it had to be brought forward so as not to fall at the same time as the Vouneuil-sous-Biard fireworks display. The 2024 edition will therefore take place on June 22, as a nice continuation of the Fête de la Musique. »
Three days of celebration at the CPA of Lathus
Offering outdoor sporting and cultural activities every summer, the Lathus outdoor center (CPA) opens its doors this weekend with its Impro’bables festival, which also kicks off the season from the Vienne Fest collective.
The 7e edition of this free festival started this Thursday, May 9 and continues today and tomorrow Saturday, from 11 a.m., in the village of Le Peu. It combines unusual shows, street artists, circus arts, dance, walks, participatory workshops, as well as concerts and shows in the evening.
On the program, this Friday, May 10: at 12:30 p.m., participatory songs from Piano rouge; at 9 p.m., Basherz reggae; at 10:30 p.m., the musical equestrian show “LesÊtres de la nuit”; at 11 p.m., illuminations.
And finally, Saturday May 11: meals from local producers (in the evening, bring plates and cutlery); at 7 p.m., Les Yeux Noirs (pop rock); at 9 p.m., Shaolin Temple Defenders (soul funk); at 10:30 p.m., “Balzanes de feu” (horse and fire show); at 11 p.m., Mister Mowg (electro).
The entertainment section includes goat feeding, an escape game, a hike with donkeys, gypsy tales in a carriage, quidditch, hay bale throwing and sound effects competitions, an open improv theater stage, etc.
