Rapper Drake’s Toronto home was cordoned off by a security perimeter on Tuesday, according to Canadian media, after police reported a shooting that occurred overnight from Monday to Tuesday.

In a post shared on The individual in question is believed to be a security guard. According to the initial report, he was found unconscious by officers, with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The suspect fled in a car, according to authorities, who did not provide further descriptions. The CBC channel notably indicated that the property of the rap giant was under police surveillance early Tuesday morning.

This event comes as the Canadian star has been in conflict with rapper Kendrick Lamar for several weeks.

Their battle began in March, when the latter declared that he was the only number 1 in American rap, believing that Drake did not compete with him. Since then, the two icons of American rap have clashed through interposed pieces, in which they attack each other.

As part of this war of words, Kendrick Lamar notably called his counterpart “a sick man”, who allegedly has a hidden daughter, to which Drake responded by accusing Kendrick of domestic violence against his fiancée Whitney Alford.
