Like , or , Grenoble is one of the 10 cities chosen by the newspaper Release to put the ecological transition at the heart of the debates. Is skiing really over? How to eat without devouring the planet? Is the climate just a young person’s affair? In the theaters of the Grenoble House of Culture, elected officials, activists, artists and athletes debate.

For Olympic biathlon champion Marie Dorin, ecology is first and foremost a state of mind. She first became interested in ecology thanks to those around her. It is precisely sharing and transmission that are extremely important in this. I find that maintaining dialogue, especially at the moment when it is more tense in certain places, is very important”testifies the athlete.

“We at Release we display, by coming to Grenoble for two days, and in ten cities in France throughout the year, an editorial prioritysays Paul Quinio, deputy director of the daily. We are focusing on the environment because we believe that it is a societal, economic and vital issue for all sectors of life.”

A poorly shared issue. If local and citizen initiatives are increasing to make metropolises greener, many elected officials point to the indifference of the government and Parliament.

“The State must take up the subject because we know that if we do not deal with this subject, we postpone the question. The urgency will become even greater, the investments to be made will be even more massive”comments Lucie Castets, ex-candidate of the New Popular Front for the post of Prime Minister.

To participate in the debates, Libération called on personalities from all walks of life: athletes, politicians, activists, artists, etc.

“And if we don’t take care of it, the distribution of the burden will be even more unequal. The big losers, if we don’t ensure the ecological transition, are the most precarious, the poorest and the most discriminated against”continues Lucie Castets.

Failing to stop the melting of glaciers, the Climat Libé Tour modestly invites us to reconcile with nature. Fifteen debates are scheduled until this evening at MC2. All the information can be found here.
