On Thursday April 25, the Atmosphere room was full to welcome the group Shamade Swing Trio programmed by “Le Caveau de la Gare” of the OSCC. Benoit, Julien and Sébastien were able to delight the audience with their “gypsy jazz and swing” music. “To define the gypsy jazz style is to let yourself be carried away by jazz and by the cheerful accents of Eastern Europe. Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli had their hands placed on the shoulders of the three musicians on Thursday evening,” explains one of the organizers. Double bass, guitar and violin were there to perform famous pieces but also the compositions of the trio. The audience, charmed, felt the irrepressible desire to beat the rhythm, to follow the moving tempos of the waltz, the charleston, and the rumba. Jazz initiates, through their applause, appreciated the improvisation movements and handovers from the guitar to the violin and the harmony supported by the double bass. The next show at the “Caveau de la Gare” will take place on Thursday, June 6, with the return of the Figeac theater troupe “Avis De Pas Sage” which will this time perform “The Doctor Despite Him” by Molière. The Caveau volunteers are expecting a large audience to discover or see again one of the classic masterpieces of French theater.
