The author and director Rodolphe Rutman, specialist in D Dayimmortalized this meeting by retracing the journey of Franz Gocquelan 18-year-old German machine gunner, and Kenneth Olsenyoung American landing on Omaha beach on June 6, 1944.

60 years D-Daythese two men whom the war spared find themselves on the very site of the Landing and remember… The camera follows them on the paths taken 60 years previously, films them in the company of remembering inhabitants and at the moment when they receive the medal of honorary citizens from the city of Colleville-sur-Mer from the hands of the city councilor.

But above all, the documentary testifies to a brand new relationshipthat enemies become friends and the obvious pleasure of the two men in shaking hands and exchanging memories.

This film was broadcast for the first time on French television channels in June 2004.

20 years laterthe cinema proposes the projection of Crossed Destiny in the presence of director Rodolphe Rutman, Friday May 10 at 6 p.m. in Trévières ().
