Jean-François Duccheschi died Monday April 22, at the age of 70. His funeral was celebrated on Friday April 26 at the Nogent crematorium.

Born on April 15, 1954, in , Jean-François was the penultimate of a family of ten children. A family which had the particularity of being made up of one part of brothers and sisters born in Italy and the other part in . Country in which Jean-François’ parents had decided to settle and in which his father had found work in the coal sector.

It was after obtaining a CAP in mechanics that Jean-François took his first steps in the profession he had practiced all his life. First at the Arc-en-Barrois garage, before having a long career at the Renault Relais -Bâle garage in Chaumont. Mechanics held no secrets for this man passionate about cars. So much so that its door was always open to do an oil change, redo brakes or change a timing belt.

Over the years, Jean-François had become a real Potérat (name given to the inhabitants of Créancey) who was appreciated by everyone. It must be said that by marrying Brigitte Charpentier, a girl from the village, in 1981, her integration was facilitated. Especially since it was in the village that the couple settled in 1980, in a pavilion for which Jean-François did not fail to roll up his sleeves for its construction.

Nature lovers, they took long walks together, on foot or by bike. And then, the trips back and forth between Fréjus and Créancey were quite frequent since the couple acquired a mobile home in the South of France. Travel to foreign countries and spa treatments also punctuated their schedule. But there was also this passion for gardening and this annual ritual of watering. To make his task easier, he even built a splitter that he enjoyed using during this work which was done with several members of his family, in good humor and conviviality.

But, during the month of March, leukemia disrupted Jean-François’ state of health, forcing him to be hospitalized in where he died on Monday April 22. Jean-François will leave those around him with the memory of a jovial, endearing, hard-working, passionate and attentive man.

To his family, we offer our condolences.
