QUEBEC, May 8, 2024 /CNW/ – In accordance with the wishes expressed by the family of Mr. Jean-Pierre Ferlandthe Prime Minister of Quebec, Mr. François Legault, officially confirms the holding of a national funeral in honor of this great Quebecer.
The public is invited to come and pay tribute to Jean-Pierre Ferland during the exhibition in ardent chapel which will be held on Friday, May 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Theater Maisonneuve de la Place Arts.
The national tribute ceremony will be celebrated on Saturday 1er June at the Mary Queen of the World Cathedral Basilica, in Montreal. Please note that a limited number of places will be offered to the public for the funeral. Further details will follow.
At the request of the Prime Minister and as a sign of an official manifestation of collective mourning, the Quebec flag on the main tower of the Parliament Building will be flown at half-mast, from dawn to dusk, on January 1er June.
Putting a register of condolences online
Prime Minister François Legault also announces the posting online of a register of condolences. Those who wish to offer a testimony to the family of Mr. Jean-Pierre Ferland can do so by going to the following address: www.Quebec.ca/condolences .
