Foix. The Albada polyphonic trio is a hit at the Léo

As Carole Albanese, director of Estive, the national stage of Foix and Ariège, rightly pointed out during her speech, “one of the missions of my establishment is to reach out to all audiences by going outside its walls”.

The forecourt of the Léo de Foix, in the heart of the historic center, was a perfect setting for this type of operation. This Friday, September 13, before 6 p.m., all the chairs were occupied and many people were standing or sitting (including many children) in front of the stage.

More than 200 people joined the singers of the Albada trio, making it the largest turnout of this summer 2024.

Pyrenean songs revisited

Lutxi Achiary, Anne Enjalbert and Pascal Caumont presented a short but dense program of traditional Occitan songs. They reinvent the traditional songs of the Pyrenean valleys with melodies on many subjects. The texts were explained in French before.

Their songs brought a strong conviviality with an ever-growing audience, which sang several songs following the suggestions of the trio members.

At the request of the latter, dancers took possession of the dance floor to follow the proposed rhythms. Warm applause greeted the trio’s performance.
