Genève-Servette did not confirm after its success against Bienne in the National League on Thursday for the first post-Jan Cadieux. The Garnets remained silent on Saturday in Langnau, 3-0.

The GSHC did not succeed in deceiving the vigilance of Stéphane Charlin in Emmental. The best goalkeeper in the championship, trained by the Eagles, deflected all 26 attempts aimed at him. The 24-year-old goalkeeper was, however, greatly helped by his defense, which was not really in difficulty in front of his audience.

Langnau forced the decision at the start of the third period, thanks to Flavio Schmutz. After missing a penalty and seeing his opener canceled for an obstruction before the first tea, the number 40 of the Tigers won a commitment in the Geneva camp and his namesake Julian Schmutz armed a shot on reception which lodged in Raanta’s skylight (44e). Aleksi Saarala then gave a double advantage to the Emmentalois at the end of a fine collective movement (47e), before Harri Pesonen’s 3-0 in the empty cage (60e).

Genève-Servette will have the opportunity to bounce back on Sunday during the second meeting of this “back-to-back” against Langnau scheduled for Les Vernets (3:45 p.m.). A success is necessary to stay within reach of the top 6.

Bienne beaten on penalties

Biel also lost against Rapperswil at home. The Zealanders lost 3-2 after a penalty shootout, an exercise which has not been successful for the Lakers until now (0/5 this season).

The Biennois, who have now lost 11 of their last 14 matches, had nevertheless opened the scoring thanks to their captain and Top Scorer Toni Rajala, then took the advantage at 2-1 after the first goal of Yanick Sablatnig in the HCB jersey . But Rapperswil was also able to count on a high-class Nordic pyrotechnician in the person of Malte Strömwall. The Swede equalized twice, before Tyler Moy scored the only penalty in the penalty shootout.

Problems also piled up at HC Davos, beaten 4-1 in Zug. Graubünden have lost their last six National League matches. In a top-of-the-table match, Berne overthrew Kloten (5-4) thanks to a decisive goal from Romain Loeffel.
