Tunisia – The Ministry of Health reassures: the situation is under control

Like every year, the winter period is marked by an increase in respiratory illnesses, particularly of viral origin. This phenomenon is observed in many countries, including Tunisia. Recent data, both nationally and internationally, show that the viruses currently in circulation are well known and do not represent a significant danger to public health. There is nothing to suggest a serious threat or uncontrolled spread.
In a press release made public on Sunday on its official Facebook page, the Ministry of Health wishes to reassure the population and confirms that the situation is under control. In coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), health authorities continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis. “If circumstances require it, immediate and appropriate measures will be implemented. Furthermore, a response plan is already ready to manage any possible epidemic,” specifies the document.
In this context, the ministry emphasizes the importance of prevention. Annual vaccination, particularly against influenza, remains an effective way to reduce the risk of complications. It is also essential to adopt barrier gestures, such as regular hand washing, wearing a mask in crowded enclosed spaces and limiting contact in the event of symptoms. These precautions are particularly necessary to protect the most vulnerable groups, such as infants, children, the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.
Finally, the ministry calls for caution in the face of rumors and invites citizens to obtain information only through its official press releases. The dissemination of false information can only fuel worry for no reason.
