Several meetings are offered in January at the Bagnols-sur-Cèze media library. The major event will be Reading Nights.

The media library is launching its January program with an exhibition of watercolors and inks created by Bagnolais Jean-Noël Criton. He drew in the streets of Bagnols to bring together a large series of facades, monuments, modern buildings and public buildings. The fruit of his labor can be seen from January 7 to 31. See you on Thursday 9, at 6 p.m., for a guided screening, followed by the opening.

The next day, at 6 p.m., a musical conference is organized on music from the James Bond saga. Ferdinand Doumerc will present the richness of the musical universe by alternating listening to the original versions and covers. He will tell some anecdotes from the saga… The literary meeting of the month is scheduled for Wednesday 22, at 6 p.m. with Erdosain. In his book Without respite, the author describes the brief and tumultuous life of Michael Von Der Goltz, baron, doctor of philosophy, bullfighter and journalist, born in 1946 and died suspiciously in 1992.

The Departmental Health Education Committee (Codes 30) is organizing a conference on the theme “Together, let’s take care of our health” on Friday January 24 from 9:30 a.m. to noon for people aged 60 and over. The Codes will present, on this occasion, the Aging Well prevention program. This conference will be followed, between February and April 2025, by workshops on health.

Two days dedicated to Reading Nights

The national Reading Nights event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, will take place on January 24 and 25 at the end of the day. This year, the chosen theme is Egypt. On Friday 24, at 6 p.m., there will be a photographic projection, Oum el donya – Egypt, mother of the worldby Flora Elie. The photographer spent two years in Cairo to create “a series of illustrations of daily life in Cairo through portraits of residents and atmospheres”. On the 25th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the media library invites children and adults to participate in activities (readings aloud, creative workshops, video games, board games, puppets, etc.) around the theme of Egypt.

The other monthly meetings continue. Two cinema cafés are organized, in partnership with AVF Bagnols: Tuesdays January 14 and 21 at 2:15 p.m. For the more creative, an introductory sewing workshop and a pottery workshop are offered respectively on January 23 and 31 at 2 p.m. Thriller fans will meet on Saturday January 11 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Children are not forgotten since a table puppet show is planned for January 29 at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. (registration on site from January 15). The event, a book, a story, to evoke the pleasures of reading will take place on the 31st at 6 p.m. and will close a busy first month of the year.
