This is happening at Barça, the opposition demands the resignation of Laporta after the Olmo fiasco

All the Barcelona supporters groups in opposition to Joan Laporta published a press release this Sunday demanding his resignation as president of FC Barcelona. He is criticized in particular for the non-registrations of Dani Olmo and Victor.

The opposition to Joan Laporta's board of directors published a statement this Sunday demanding his immediate resignation as president of FC Barcelona “to make way for a new stage with new ways of doing things and managing.” Among the problems raised in the press release, the non-registration of Dani Olmo, recorded on Saturday by La Liga and the Spanish federation, but which the club will challenge in court.

In total there are ten groups of supporters – FCB Compromisers, Dignitat Blaugrana, El Senyor Ramon, Seguiment FCB, La Resistència del Palau, Sí al Futur, Suma Barça, Som un Clam, Transparencia Blaugrana et Un Crit Valent – including those led by the candidates for the post of president Víctor Font and Joan Camprubí who are complaints of the management of the Catalan club by Laporta.

“Negligence” in Dani Olmo’s recording singled out

Appealing to “the Barcelonaism of the current members of the board of directors and their slogan during the last elections, 'Estimem el Barça'”, the opposition to Laporta considers that “we need people who have the energy to give life and vigor to an entity which must be managed in a professional manner. This is why they are asking the president, if he does not want to resign, to submit to a vote of confidence.

The signatory groups do not exclude a third scenario, that of a motion of censure, “the only tool available to members”, although they assure that they would not like to achieve it “because it implies a significant effort and wear and tear on the club. According to them, the “negligence” in the recording of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor is the straw that broke the camel's back.

“The image and reputation of the club, unfortunately, have been seriously damaged”

They also criticize the “difficult to understand” commission to agent Darren Dein (50 million euros) in the renewal of the agreement with Nike; the attempt to sign Thomas Heurtel, a player of “dubious honor”, for the basketball section; and the fact of “not following the audit criteria in the approval of the 23/24 accounts to avoid recognizing ordinary losses”.

“In addition to blatant electoral violations, cases of negligence are increasing and the social crisis is evident. This is why we consider that today and now we want to emphasize that living on the razor's edge means that one day the piece does not fall on the side we want, causing irreparable material, economic and social damage and a point, certainly, of no return. The image and reputation of the club, unfortunately, have been seriously damaged. concludes the press release.
