The last hours of the year brought good news for FC Barcelona, as the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) granted them a 72-hour extension regarding the registration of Dani Olmo as a Barça player. This delay follows the submission of documents which support their compliance with the rules of financial fair play, resulting from the sale of VIP boxes at the new Camp Nou.
According to several Spanish sources, the Blaugranas sold these places to a group of Arab investors, who made immediate payment. However, upon presenting the documentation, it was discovered that the funds were not present in the club’s bank accounts, sparking concerns across Spanish football.
Joan Laporta recently traveled to Dubai to finalize this transaction, which was delayed due to the festive period. He requested a two working day extension, ensuring that by January 3, the situation would be resolved so that the player could be registered for the second half of the 2024-25 La Liga season.
