The Dr Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret is winner of the 2024 Excellence in Care Award awarded by the Federation of Specialist Physicians of Quebec (FMSQ). A dedicated endocrinologist, researcher and clinician, he is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal and directs the Metabolic Diseases Research Unit as well as the Diabetes Clinic at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM). President of the professional council of Diabète Québec, he holds three research chairs. Author of more than 400 scientific articles, he is internationally recognized for his contributions to endocrinology.
The Excellence in Care Award rewards exceptional medical specialists or innovative initiatives that improve access to health care in Quebec, their efficiency, their quality or their safety while promoting an interdisciplinary approach.

Often asked to speak publicly on issues related to diabetes, Dr.r Rabasa-Lhoret divides her time between her patients, research and defending the rights of people living with diabetes. Its approach is based on a fundamental synergy between research and clinical practice, an essential condition for the advancement of knowledge and care.
